In April 2012 Google Update there algorithm is called Penguin Update for better catch of the Sites on search engine and prevent there Search Engine from Spam. Google always know the importance of there User So they always update there algorithm for better search result. 

This update will affect that site which is used to buying links or obtained links from spamming activity like 2-way linking of the site. So if you are one of those who also face with ranking due to above spamming activity. I would personally suggest you to used Google Disavow links tools or to remove your 2 way links to regain ranking on the Search Engine. New Website which is built recently will not get caught by this update, So they have not to worry about this update. If your website is new and it has been get caught by penguin Update then it will re-affect soon. So you also don't need to worry about it.
